Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information YapTask collects, why we use it, when we share it, and the choices you have.

YapTask is provided by AmbiMake LLC. This policy applies to the YapTask iOS app, our website, and related support services. It is effective July 14, 2026.

The short version

  • We use your information to run and support your task list.
  • AI features are optional. We ask before sending your requests or voice recordings to Groq.
  • We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • You can control analytics, AI processing, and account deletion from the app.

Information we collect

  • Account information. Sign in with Apple provides an account identifier and may provide your name or email address.
  • Your task-list content. We store the lists, tasks, subtasks, and settings you create so YapTask can display and synchronize them.
  • Your requests. We process typed requests, voice transcripts, and the resulting task changes so the app can understand what you asked, update your list, and let you recover from recent changes.
  • Voice recordings. When you choose voice input, YapTask records a short request for transcription. YapTask-owned storage does not keep the raw recording after the transcription request is complete.
  • Usage and diagnostics. We may receive app or website usage, device and app information, crash reports, coarse error information, and similar technical data. Product analytics can be disabled in YapTask Settings.
  • Purchases, attribution, and support. We receive subscription status from Apple, limited information about how an install was attributed, and information you choose to include in support messages or TestFlight feedback.

How we use information

We use information to:

  • authenticate your account and synchronize your lists and tasks;
  • transcribe and interpret requests, apply task changes, and provide undo or recovery features;
  • manage subscriptions and restore purchases;
  • operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve YapTask; and
  • respond to support requests and meet legal obligations.

AI processing

Before YapTask sends information to a third-party AI provider, the app identifies Groq and asks for your permission. If you allow AI processing, YapTask may send your typed request, relevant task-list context, or a short voice recording to Groq for transcription and task-request interpretation.

You can decline or withdraw this permission in Settings. YapTask will not send new requests or recordings to Groq while permission is off, but AI-powered task-list requests will not be available.

When we share information

We share information only as needed to provide and protect YapTask:

  • Apple supports sign-in, subscriptions, install attribution, App Store distribution, and TestFlight feedback.
  • Groq processes information for AI features when you give permission, as described above.
  • Service providers help with cloud hosting and storage, app diagnostics, product analytics, website operations, security, and support.
  • We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.

We require service providers that receive personal information to protect it consistently with this policy and applicable law. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

More about service providers

Our providers process information only for the service they supply to YapTask. These services include account and purchase infrastructure, cloud hosting and data storage, AI processing, crash diagnostics, privacy-bounded product analytics, website hosting, and customer support. Their own privacy notices describe their processing practices.

Retention and deletion

We keep account information and task-list content while your account is active so we can provide the service. Other records are kept only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose described in this policy, including reliability, security, support, subscription administration, and legal obligations.

You can delete your account from YapTask Settings. Account deletion removes YapTask-owned account, task-list, request history, usage, and support data associated with you. Limited records may remain temporarily in backups or when required for security, fraud prevention, financial records, or legal compliance, after which they are deleted or de-identified. Deleting your YapTask account does not cancel a subscription billed by Apple.

Your choices and rights

  • Voice: Voice input is optional. You can type instead.
  • AI processing: You can grant or withdraw Groq permission in Settings.
  • Analytics: You can turn product analytics off in Settings.
  • Account deletion: You can start account deletion in Settings.
  • Privacy requests: Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, receive, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. Contact us to exercise a right that is not available directly in the app.

Security and international processing

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No system can guarantee absolute security.

YapTask and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

Legal bases for processing

Where applicable, we process information to provide the service you request, with your consent, to comply with law, and for legitimate interests such as securing, maintaining, and improving YapTask. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing that already occurred.

Children

YapTask is not intended for children under 16. If you believe a child provided personal information in violation of applicable law, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where required.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as YapTask changes. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice before a material change when required. If a change requires consent, we will ask before applying it.
